CAN YOU TELL WHAT IT IS YET?

I am now going to reveal the Big Secret. Well, it's not much of a one to anyone else I suppose but it's the whole world to us just now. We have just paid off the last installment on our mortgage so now we are mortgage-free! We own every last little brick in these four walls and it feels so good. We don't owe anyone in the whole wide world anythng at all. G-r-r-r-e-a-t!

Lincoln had the pleasure of our company after we had done this deed. Most of the Christmas shopping got done so that makes a change. It's usually a last minute rush in our house. While driving to Lincoln we were treated to our own personal display by the Red Arrows RAF Display Team. Well, they were practising really; they do in that area. They used to be based at RAF Scampton but I think that's closed down now so I'm not sure where the Arrows would be based now. Cranwell perhaps? Anyway, I prefer to think that their formation fly-pasts were just for us.

When we got home we were greeted by the delicious smell of beef stew in the slow cooker. When it's pouring with rain and freezing cold, as yesterday, a hearty stew is the finest smell in the world. Keith was in his element: hot stew, crusty bread, a pint of beer and a warm house - aaah, God's in his Heaven, all's right with the world. If I've misquoted that, I'm sorry!

I don't mean to sound compacent, though I know I do. Just let me have my little moment eh?

Congratulations ! I know from experience how wonderful it is not to be making house payments anymore. It is grand knowing that the place you live is your own free and clear. 'On Ya'-ma

Congratulations Angie! What a great accomplishment! Did youburn the mortgage? A lot of people do that with great fanfare in North America. Glad you had a lovely day shopping and that Keith enjoyed the stew. My Todd loves a good stew as well! (((hugs))) XXOO

Congratulations it is the best feeling in the world I remember it well no more worries that way at least and in this economic climate that's at big deal. Your stew sounded great I am needing a new slow cooker and you are tempting me into one, have a big pot of brown lentil soup cooking away just now. Have a great weekend. Love Joan

Woah, Angie!! Congratulations - now what are you going to do with all that extra money? Might I suggest a small private investment opportunity? 100% security-guaranteed. It's called Jasper's Waikiki Fund. Quality assured. Investors' Pack available on request. Or just cut the cr*p and send me a big fat cheque. You won't be sorry you invested...! Feel free to invest some of that nice-sounding stew in my 'tummy fund' as well.

love, Jazz xxx

Congratulations, Angie!
Enjoy this economic freedom. It must be a load off your minds. I suggest you invest a portion of what would be your mortgage payment and enjoy the other half as you see fit. That way you'll have a nice little nest egg to fall back on. I wish I had done that 8 months ago when I gave up smoking. I should have banked the money that I would have spent on smokes. I could have an overseas holiday on that!

Cheers - Joolz

Hi Angie, One of my work colleagues uses a slow cooker and I`m really tempted to buy one myself, it sounds such a good idea. Well why else would there be a fly past in not for you and Keith?....lol! ;o)
