Wednesday 19 May

I am incensed - don't worry, this will be very short and not at all sweet!

I heard on the news yesterday that a Pakistani man had been jailed for plotting terrorist activities here in England.  Now I don't mind Pakistanis at all as long as they speak our language and work for their living and pose no threat to us, their benefactors.  Let's be clear about that .  But I do take umbrage when the judge refuses to deport the bloke back to Pakistan "in case he gets tortured".

Know what?  I don't care!

I am incensed as well. I think the Aussie Prime Minister has it right. If you don't want to abide by the laws in their country, speak the language, etc. then bugger off to where you came from. It's about time our Government got some balls. (I can't believe I just said that!) What about my rights as a law abiding, tax paying citizen to live in a country where I don't have to worry about some idiotic terrorist killing me simply because I don't prescribe to his faith. Send him back to where he came from. Let them torture him. It's the best that he deserves in my opinion!

Your post made me laugh since it seems lately it is always about the RIGHTS of the criminals. I think the world is gone mad. Yes, Hilton Head Island South Carolina is the same in he books you read. It is a pretty island and is about 8 miles long or in this case 8 miles short!

I agree wholeheartedly with the other comments ~ I know we are all getting fed up with these situations ~ It is a pity they didn't think of the Human Rights of others before they started planning their bombings on innocent people I say send them back to where they come from ~ they will get exactly what they deserve ~ Ally x

I just read the post before mine. I do hope you are doing better.

I am only guessing but it seems so many governments fear returning a terrorist or wanna be back to some of their motherlands for fear of the perpetrator growing more soldiers for a cause.

Are you OK Angie? What's all this about you being in hospital?! Hope you're alright and we're sending you lots of love and hugs.

We get annoyed at prisoners' "rights" issues as well. As far as we are concerned, someone signs away their eligibility for "rights" the moment they decide to break the law. Grrrr...

Keep smiling sweetie,

I am with you Angie. Like Marie, I wish that our government would get some backbone like the Aussie's do. I get so tired of us being "politically correct". I think it someone doesn't like you or your country they should be sent back where they came from.

I am glad to be back in blog land. I have missed you. Hugs, Lura

As an Australian I was intrigued to hear that 'our Kev's' words had traveled so far. I have to be in favour of immigrants because I'm one, from England to Oz via Africa.
But it was easy for us as we already 'spoke the language' so we fitted in. But I think all immigrants everywhere should assimilate.
