RHONDI'S PORCH PARTY

a self portrait. Well, It could be if you added a few inches to the girth of Moi.

First of all Rhondi, thanks for inviting us. I've been so looking forward to this. Happy birthday, I hope you have fun today. For your porch party last year I had to 'borrow' my sister's back porch as we didn't have anything that would do.

Well, we still dont't have a porch as such but Keith has been slaving away for a few months making us a nice place to sit in the back garden and I'm hoping lots of blog friends will call in for tea.

Just come round to the back of the house and through the gate to the left of the picture, by the blue pot.

There's a little table there to sit at - I can soon find more chairs. Or if you prefer......

........take a seat on the deck. Nte the strategically placed cordyline? It's foliage hides a basket of ironing in the conservatory that I forgot to move!

Now, THIS is a perpetually hungry guest who arrived on the wrong day (there's always one!). She is unbelievably camera shy but I thought I should use the picture seing as she let me take it.

OH NO! Blogger won't let me bring up any more pictures. That's so disappointing because you can really see that we do occasionally get beautiful weather in England. Rarely is the sky such a beautiful blue. Well I don't know if I'm being unusually clever or what - Quite out of character if I am - but I may well have discoveed how to put them at the side. 'Ma' does it. Maybe they don't look quite the same there but it's better than nothing eh?

I didn't really know what to wear today so I decided at last on a really bright yellow top with a not-quite-long skirt in this colour with a pattern of feathers on it. It's very colourful and just the right colour for a celebration. You're all looking very lovely. The croquet hoops and mallets are on the lawn. It's a lovely gentle game.

Tea, anyone?

I'm ready...I'm ready...can I come???
It looks so inviting...who needs a porch when you have that gorgeous deck and patio???
What kind of biscuits were those? They looked delicious...are they easy peasy to make (I want to steal 'easy peasy' and start using it or will I get arrested by some British agent?)?

Thank you for the lovely pictures and you are VERY clever!!

blessings and hugs,

What a lovely spot on your patio for a cup of tea and a chat. Are we having scones or fruit cake?

What a treasure you have in your back garden, and thank you for inviting us to visit.

Your deck and terrace are just lovely, and you have just the perfect day for entertaining.

Great job on your photos, and a perfect solution.

My porch party is tomorrow. I hope you will have time to come by for a visit.

Hi Angie!
So nice to meet you. Any friend of Rhondi's is a friend of mine.

Your "porch" is lovely! I don't have a porch either. I posted about my deck too. Come visit if you have time.

Thanks for inviting us in Angie!! YOu have such a lovely home. I wish I could have a place like that to call my own! Sure I live in a lovely cottage now, but it's not ours and I know one day I'll have to move back into a poxy one bedroom council flat again! (hopefully not in a neighbourhood full of lagerheads and louts!) I love that you have offered us refreshments too! How wonderful it would be to be able to sit down and have a cuppa with you and a good old chin wag! When you come down this summer. I can't wait! love and hugs sweet friend! XXOO

Hi Angie

Sorry I missed the porch party - I bet it was a cracker! Those fruit scones look fantastic...and what a beautiful sunny day.

The blue hedge you have out the front of your place looks like a
Blue Pacific (proper name - ceanothus papillosus roweanus - I kid you not!). Also known as a Californium Lilac, it origins are from North America. So Marcy was right about it being a lilac.

All this information makes me look like a proper know-it-all but honestly I just googled Blue Pacific (we used to have one at my MumandDads) and up come the info and picture. Looooove the internet!

Cheers - Joolz

I love that house, porch, grounds, dog, ..... everything!! Next time I want to come. Do you suppose I could find a cheap fare between Phoenix and England? Without sitting on the wing?

Hi
I'm back! Last night I was in a hurry trying to get the link set up and I really didn't have time for much of a visit. So I'm back today, hoping you'll make a nice pot of tea. Hardly anyone here in America knows how to make tea. They drink it cols with lots of sugar!!!

Loved my visit to England. Wish I had some of your cooler weather. Summer is not porch weather in Texas but the rest of the year actually is however that doesn't stop me from whining. Thanks for the tour - very lovely. :)Nancy
