Monday 26 April

Last Thursday himself and I went to the Naidex exhibition at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham.  Just south of it actually.  It's an exhibition showcasing disabled equipment, whether for use by other-abled people (like me) or their carers, either family or professional.  It was all expensive of course, as such stuff always is, and I only bought one item
And this was it.   A kind of bean bag lap tray which you could also use as a zip-up bag on the back of your wheelchair.  I bought it because it seemed the perfect solution for balancing my laptop on my lap when my legs are too short to do so.

Of course there were all the usual brochures and leaflets and free gifts that you always pick up at these do's.  A bag within a bag within a bag.  Loading up the car at hometime, A Person went and left that bag on the car park.  Forgotten.  Omitted. Excluded.  So all the car brochures (which we DID want) and all the other (which we didn't) were gone and we went on the show's last day.  Nobody handed it in so that was 35 quid down the drain

Ironically, though we lost all the other leaflets, this one - advertising the only item we bought- did find its way home.  I'm keeping it.  It must be the most expensive leaflet ever published!

Oh my that is too bad that someone didn't turn it in so you could get your purchase. Not long ago my daughter and I were shopping and I noticed that I didn't have one of the bags of things I'd bought and when I went back to the store, they did have it for me. Someone had found it sitting on the bench outside where we had sat down for a few minutes to let our feet rest. It does look like a good idea for your lap top.

What a shame to loose what was needed and not the other !! typical though isn't it. That cushion thingy sounds a good idea I always like things that can be used for more than one purpose..
Mary and I enjoy the mobility roadshow when it was held down our way for a couple of years. full of good ideas but the PRICES !! I think thye must think disbaled folks are made of money
Love as usual Sybil xx

Oh no! I hate situations such as this and it's so hard not to be frustrated.

I hope that something unexpectedly wonderful happens to you to fill the 35 quid void!

Oh I can't stand when I do things like that. You can imagine that I'm irritated a lot.

Love the cushion/travel/lap thing though. Looks handy!

I am sorry that someone did not turn them in. Too bad that you were out that money. I hate it when things like this happen. It makes you wonder if there are many honest people left.

I will surely add your nephew to my prayers. I hope that his surgery goes well. I send my love and best wishes. Hugs, Lura

And that person shall remain nameless of course!! What rotten luck!! That lap tray thingie looks fantastic though! I could use one of those, but Mr Miser is not letting go of the purse strings these days, and understandably so!! I so enjoy our little chats, by text or by e-mail or by phone! I think I am on a phone plan now. I will have to call one day, once I find out if I am actually on a plan or not! love you loads! xxoo

Oof! Bad luck Angie! Who left the bag? Someone whose name starts with "Ke" and ends with "ith", perchance? Or a more innocent young soul...?

Those bean-bag thingies are good. My aunt had a similar one for a meal lap-tray. Very comfortable on the ol' pins...! Maybe it was a blessing in disguise - if you look up what you wanted on t'internet rather than using the addresses on the brochure, you might find the things available at better prices. Silver linings, eh?
